Sales Rain’s Mandaluyong site was flooded by Filipino K-Pop fans last Saturday, January 19, to showcase the Hallyu fever in the country and to celebrate South Korean boy band iKON member Donghyuk’s 23rd birthday.
Pickles Production has partnered up with two iKONIC fandom groups – DK23rd and CHANcellors PH, in hosting Donghyuk: Kpop Convention and Exhibit; a night filled with iKON’s top-charting songs and award winning music videos.
The Filipino iKONICs showcased their love and support for Donghyuk and his fellow members as they sang along to iKON’s greatest hits “Love Scenario”, “Killing Me”, and their latest single “I’m Ok”. Fun games were held as the photo exhibit for Donghyuk was opened for viewing to the attendees. The displayed photos were from the personal collection of each organizers coming from different fan events and performances. Some of the featured photographs came from one of the many existing Donghyuk fansites, Dazzling Kisses and WarmHeart. A few of the exhibited pieces were given away as a prize to one of the many fun filled games that night. Fans that were unable to attend the aforementioned event generously donated official fan merch such as iKON’s official light stick known as ‘Konbat’ as well as the latest repackaged version of their album ‘New Kids’. A few banners were also given away to well-deserving fans.
The group, consisting of Kim Hanbin, Kim Jinhwan, Song Yunhyeong, Kim Jiwon, Kim Donghyuk, Koo Junhoe, and Jung Chanwoo, recently paid their fans in Manila a visit as part of their Continue Tour last year, November 11, held at the Mall of Asia Arena.
